TIPS FOR ORGANIZING
BULLETIN BOARD AND
FLANNEL BOARD MATERIALS

Dry Cleaner Bags/Trash Bags

bullet

Use dry cleaner bags to store all of the materials for one bulletin board. Label it with a word title, stickers, a picture taped with clear tape. Then fold the open end around a cheap clothes hanger, and secure it with clothes pins. Very inexpensive, and easy! Use an extension rod used for curtains (a shower rod will also work) in your closet and hang all of the bags in order of seasons.

Video Cassette Storage Boxes

bullet

Use video cassette storage boxes to store small and medium sized flannel board pieces. They store flat and orderly and are easily marked with computer print out labels. When you take out the pieces, the storage boxes can hang in Ziploc baggies from hangers that have a hook on the top and a clothespin clip on the bottom. These then hang from a tension rod beside the flannel board.

You can also use the storage boxes to hold small pieces for bulletin boards, such as calendar cut-outs.

Pillow Cases

bullet

I use pillow cases to store my bulletin board materials!  I have one for each month.  I lap the open end corners over each side of the top slanted bars of a hanger and pin each corner with a safety pin.  The title for that month hangs from the lower bar of the hanger. Then I hand them in order on my closet rod and when they become too heavy for hanging, I know it is time to sort and throw!
