I FEEL IT TOO!Have the students finish the following statements with as much voice as possible. Decide ahead of time if the statements have to be true or not. When the students are finished, one at a time they are to share what they have written. For each statement the other students are to score how sad, amused angry, excited, or scared the statement made them feel with one being the least and five the greatest. Put the highest scoring papers on a bulletin board as examples for writing that has voice. Small rewards could be given to those students with the highest scoring papers. To protect the students' identities, the teacher could read the papers or the students could trade papers.
